Chris, Matt, and Nick have been working together to organize the Community Drive-Thru Family Food Relief event planned for this Saturday, June 20, 2020, in the parking lot of Cliffs Amusement Park. Cliff’s address is 4800 Osuna Rd. NE in Albuquerque. If you would like to pick up food, please access the Pan American from Jefferson, and head north to Osuna. Turn right into the parking lot of Cliff’s Amusement Park, and volunteers will put a box of fresh food in your back seat or the trunk of your car. Citizen Church, Sagebrush Church, and Calvary Church have come together with Convoy of Hope to provide this food for our families.

Chris and Matt join the show today to share these details. Chris had the quote of the day, “God created us to take care of each other.” The commitment from these churches doesn’t stop with Albuquerque. My friend Rick O White went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2019. I am very thankful for Rick and his friendship. I miss him! God works through people to speak His truth into our lives.  In second grade, Rick was there standing up for me with two fourth graders giving me a hard time. In high school, when I needed some humbling, Rick, the wrestler, smashed my face into the mat, and in less than two minutes, he clarified for me that basketball was not the hardest sport.

If you have someone that God has used to encourage you, I hope you will tell them now. Julie, I love your husband. Jordan and Whitney, I love your Dad. Sally, Butch, and Teddi, I love you and your family. Thank you, Rick White, for being my friend! We miss you!

Landoll Benally and his wife Angie are on the front lines of helping people living on the Navajo Nation. Before COVID-19 hit the Navajo Nation, the Benally’s were working daily to provide for the needs of the people. Now the needs of the community are much higher. The Benally’s are thankful Samaritan’s Purse, Sagebrush Church, Citizen Church, and Calvary Church are joining the fight to help people with food, cleaning supplies, and other essentials on the Navajo Nation. Dr. Brian C. Nixon talks with Jim today about his new book Tilt: Finding Christ in Culture. Brian loves the arts, including painting, music, sculpture, poetry, theater, and literature. Tilt teaches us to observe our culture with a lens that sees the beauty, joy, and presence of God if we listen and look close enough.

T – Take the Time. To appreciate a cultural event or something in the world—be it nature, art, music, architecture, dance, poetry, drama, a lecture, etc.

I – Investigate. Once you have taken the time to participate, investigate the person behind the event or piece of art. Familiarize yourself with their worldview and philosophy of life.

L – Listen. Once you’ve carved out time and investigated a cultural event, stop and listen to what those around you are saying about it.

T – Tell. After taking time, investigating, and listening, tell others what you learned—become a learner by teaching.

Christian High School graduates have their faith challenged by college professors every year because “creation science” is not considered valid by secularists who believe in the theory of evolution.
