Cody’s spiritual journey led him to receive ordination at Calvary Church, where he devoted over five years to nurturing the hearts and minds of young people in the youth ministry. Cody and his wife Chantel later moved to Perth Australia to found TRIBES Church. Today, he joins us to share his story and the work God has done through his ministry.

Janae Heitzig joins us to discuss Calvary Church’s newest efforts related to foster parenting. She shares her personal experiences with foster parenting, information about how to get involved, and the classes that Calvary Church will be doing to provide information on foster parenting and respite care.

 

 

 

Thom began teaching an inner-city Bible study in 1995.  That love of teaching God’s Word eventually led to the formation of Calvary Chapel Lebanon in October, 2001, with about 50 people meeting in an old hardware store.  Our church ministry and philosophy centers on teaching God’s Word chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

His program “Study the Word” will begin airing on KLYT. He joins us to introduce his ministry and to share insights he has learned.

Dr. Sharen Ford is a nationally-recognized child welfare consultant and the retired Manager for Permanency Services for the Colorado Department of Human Services in the Division of Child Welfare Services. She retired with 30 years of comprehensive work history with the department. She currently serves as the Director for Foster Care and Adoption at Focus on the Family and is as committed as ever to raising awareness regarding the need for every child to have a quality family.

Dr. Ford joins us today to discuss foster parenting and the challenges and rewards associated with it.

Melissa Juarez, Jim Murphy, Terry Heisey, and Wade Randall discuss the value of private Christian Education, and the success their students are having at the elementary, middle,  and high school levels! Students graduating from Hope High School are also experiencing a high degree of success in college, trade schools, and in the work force.  Hope offers advanced academics, athletics, art, music, and spiritual encouragement as essential elements of an education at Hope Christian Schools.  Melissa is the Dean of Students. Jim is the Athletic Director, Terry is the Head of School, and Wade is the High School Principal. Hope Chrisitan Schools serve students pre-k through 12! Care Net Pregnancy Centers of Albuquerque provide FREE pregnancy services, including testing and ultra-sounds. Paula Gonzales is the Executive Director of Care Net Pregnancy Centers of Albuquerque, and Jaden Ortiz is the Creative Director.

Rio Rancho High School freshman students, Aaron Christensen (pictured Left), and Jack Skousen (pictured right) are Co-Chairs of the upcoming Harmonies of Hope dinner concert, on August 17 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Sandia Presbyterian Church.  Harmonies of Hope is a charity dinner concert that will benefit The Grief Center. A ticket to the concert will include dinner and a night of inspiring and uplifting music performed by members of our community. Tickets are available for adults, students, and families. Children 2 and under may attend at no cost. Suzie Blake (pictured in the center) is the Director of Development for The Grief Center. She explained what a great job Aaron and Jack had done in recruiting other students to perform at the concert while helping to organize the event. Director of Education, Mickey Kivitz joins Suzie in the second half of the show explaining how the grief of losing his brother motivated him to help people as a volunteer with The Grief Center.
