Applications for Calvary College classes are due December 4, 2020. Katherine Gardner is the Administrator and Registrar for Calvary College. Katherine said about her own experience taking a course called Spiritual Foundations, “Once you are relating to God properly, in the way He intended, you start relating to others better. That was a class that really opened up my eyes and showed me how to do things a little bit different with my family, with my kids, and with my friends.

 

Hope Christian School has been open successfully for in-person learning for the entire fall semester of 2020. The Head of School, Terry Heisey, and Kent Gray, Director of Facilities and Transportation, share their best practices for safely educating students and keeping staff and the community safe in the process. Thanksgiving is an American holiday tradition with a complicated history behind it. Dr. Brian Nixon reviews the history of Thanksgiving with a focus on how Christians should be thankful for all God has provided in our lives. His compassion for “Native American people” is evident as he also describes the tragic effects of disease and oppression brought to the “New World” by Europeans. Brian said, “Thanksgiving is for all people, not just Christians.”  The holiday represents the hope of peace, comradery, and the attitude of thankfulness for all of us!

Buck is the owner of Rain Tunnel Car Spas in Albuquerque. Like many New Mexico businesses, he has had to endure having his business shut down twice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Always an optimist, Buck encourages our listeners to support “local” New Mexico owned companies and providers!

Cherita and Eric share their commitment to God and communication in their marriage. Eric quoted the wisdom of his wife when she told him, ” Would you stop listening to what I’m saying, and learn to listen to what I am not saying.” Eric is a Pastor with Calvary Church in Albuquerque. Cherita works in women’s ministry. They have been together for 43 years. Eric said, “We are woven into the fabric of each other. We see ourselves as what we are becoming together.”

These lessons are rules for believers, but even for our clients who don’t share our faith, it’s great to draw from the Bible’s principles because they are time tested.
