The Thanksgiving season is a great time to reflect on all that we might take for granted the rest of the year. It’s also a great time to give back and support those in need. Coy Trammel, the Event Coordinator at Calvary Church, gives us opportunity to participate in the Thanksgiving Pick-Up party by serving families in our community.

In preparation for her performance of the docu-drama “Corrie Remembers”, Susie Sandager joins us in studio to let the listener know a little more about Corrie Ten Boom, and how she found love and forgiveness after surviving the horrors of Ravensbrook Concentration Camp during World War II.

On veterans day it’s not unusual to find many people forgetting about the sacrifices our nation’s military personnel and their families have made for OUR families. Well, Folds of Honor continues to remember them and provide for their children’s or grieving spouses education. There are also ways in which Folds of Honor are expanding their reach. Col. James and Pat Quick (USAF Ret.) share the latest.

Courageous women raising children by themselves STILL need assistance from time to time. Alongside Ministries is doing what they can to minister to these ladies in a tangible way, through provisions of diapers, formula, baby food, wet wipes and more. Mentors also pour into the lives of the moms who, like you and me, need others input occasionally.

The Rio Grande Foundation continues to do the research most of us don’t have the time to do when considering local issues. Paul Gessing, the organization’s President, walks us through New Mexico’s report card as it pertains to education and how it compares with another states grade. He also looks at the effectiveness of our local recycling efforts as well as details about some of our city employees and how they acquired their positions in city government.

Thousands of children in New Mexico experience food insecurity. Feed New Mexico Kids is assisting children by providing them with snack packs that help them make it through weekends, at time when they are unable to access the food provided for them while at school on weekdays.

Jodie Hix of ‘New Mexico for Mercy’ introduces us to Sherry Anderson and Valerie Jameson, two ladies who help us understand what it means to display “Tenacious Love”. The powerful tools they are using to accomplish their goal are a book and documentary film of the same name. Don’t miss this tender story of forgiveness.
