The Fair Cares Wellness Drive event starts on Saturday, September 19, 2020, from 11:00, am to 5:00 pm at Expo NM (State Fairgrounds). Harvest Church, Awaken Church, Calvary Church, Vitalant, Convoy of Hope, Albertsons, McDonald’s, and the New Mexico Department of Health are hoping to provide fresh food to 1500 families. In addition to food, free flu shots will be offered, and the opportunity to donate blood will be available to everybody. Harvest Church Pastor Jason Dickenson, and Calvary Church Pastor, Matt Moffett are working with these dedicated partners to help families in need. If you know someone who may need assistance, please come by Expo New Mexico and pick up a box of food and deliver it to them!

The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is a new joint community law enforcement effort to end the cycles of gun violence in Albuquerque,” according to VIP Program Manager, Gerri Bachicha.  For September 2020, KNKT Radio is celebrating our men and women in BLUE who protect and serve us.  The Albuquerque Police Departments’ VIP team joins us on the program today:

Casa De Mariposa is focused on the needs of pregnant women in unintended situations such as previous drug use, rape, abusive relationships, low self-esteem, unemployment, limited education, and poor or no support network. All pregnant women, regardless of race, religion, or national origin, are eligible to apply to Casa De Mariposa. The ministry operates two safe, supportive homes for mothers who have decided to keep their unborn child.
