Brian Cochran said, “(The Bible contains) over 2000 verses pertaining to money and material things,  how we should view money, how we should use money, and where money should be placed in our priorities. These lessons are rules for believers, but even for our clients who don’t share our faith, it’s great to draw from the Bible’s principles because they are time tested. We say they are timeless and transcendent.” Brian is a Certified Financial Planner with John Moore Associates. The Biblical concept of giving and generosity is the topic of our show today.

Discoveries in Archaeology and other sciences continue to support the historicity of the Bible. Dr. Steven Collins said, “The destruction of Sodom is quite clear in Genesis Chapter 19.

Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven,
25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. Genesis 19:24-25 NASB

The discovery of the ancient city of Sodom by Dr. Collins and his team is now called the dig at “Tall el-Hammam.”  Dr. Collins and Dr. Gary Byers share the importance of these discoveries, and they explain how both the old and new testaments point to Jesus, the Messiah. .”It is hard for us to talk about God the Father because we cannot wrap our minds around Him. Jesus of Nazareth is the projection of God in the flesh, God who is with us. Jesus says if you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”

Larissa appeals to our listeners to take advantage of the classes offered by Trinity Southwest University and the Museum of Archaeology on the campus. For more information, click on the links.

New Mexico Restaurant Association CEO. Carol Wight is fighting to keep restaurants in New Mexico open for business. According to Carol, the New Mexico Health Department orders restricting occupancy to 25% for dining in service are the country’s toughest.  On top of the restriction imposed because of COVID-19, the Albuquerque City Council is considering an ordinance that will require small businesses, including restaurants, to provide “paid sick leave” to their employees.  The proposed ordinance is called ” THE HEALTHY FAMILIES AND WORKPLACES ORDINANCE.”

This is what Carol has to say about the ordinance, “Now is not the time. If you want to talk about this, let’s talk about it sometime when we don’t have 100,000 people on unemployment. How do you bring those people back when you have just given away their shifts to allow for sick leave?”
