New Mexico Head Football Coach Danny Gonzales & Chaplain Roger Holien

Danny Gonzales is the new Head Football Coach for the University of New Mexico Lobos. Raised in Albuquerque, he played football at Valley High School and walked on at UNM as a defensive back and punter. After his playing career, he joined Coach Rocky Long’s staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach.  In a 2006 article in the Albuquerque Journal, Coach Long predicted that Gonzales would one day be the head coach of the Lobos.

He is joined on the program today by his friend Roger Holien. Roger served as a Chaplain under coach Rocky Long, and he is now serving in the same capacity under Coach Gonzales. Roger just might be the biggest Lobo Football Fan in America!

Coach Danny shares how God has blessed him with great parents, coaches, and mentors in his life, leading him to become our new Head Football Coach! For ticket information and ongoing updates on UNM Athletic Schedules, go to GOLOBOS.com.

WE NEED SOME FOOTBALL!! Thank you, Coach Danny!  Jim
