Hi Jim :
I just wanted to give you some feedback.
Last week on the radio, a comment was made about when you get the Holy Spirit. There were two views stated. Was it at salvation or was it a later second event?
I believe that the Bible clearly states that if you do not have the Holy Spirit, then you are not saved. Thus you get the Holy Spirit when you are saved. The exception would be before Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given (Acts 2).
Romans 8:9 (NASB) However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him (Christ).
1 John 4:13 (NASB) By this we know that we abide in Him (Christ) and He in us because He has given us of His Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB) Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?
John 14:16 (NASB) I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (the Holy Spirit), that He may be with you forever;
