The Jesus Music Movement was new, fresh, loud, and exciting for people who had never heard Christian music sound like anything more than a traditional hymnal or Christmas song. Tracks of Light host Rudy Grande shares a story about Jamie Owens Collins, American Contemporary Christian music composer, singer, and songwriter. She said, “They (church leaders) didn’t like the music we did, but they gave us the room to do it because that was the gift God gave us at the time so that we could lead a generation of people.”
“God started something back in the ’60s and ’70s, and it’s still here today. He is waking up a lot of kids today with their own kind of music that I may not like, but you know what; it is ministering to this generation,” Rudy said.
