Doug and Roda Abrams are Founding Board members of Casa de Mariposa. Doug also serves as the Executive Director. He said, “Casa de Mariposa is a maternity home ministry established seven years ago by my wife, me, and five other colleagues. In that first year, God brought all the resources together. We had a home donated and all the furnishings so we could open up to moms and their babies in January of 2016. Four women came to live with us, and four babies were born. That was the launching of Casa de Mariposa into ministry service for pregnant women.”
The ministry of Casa de Mariposa exists to share the love of Jesus Christ with women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy by providing for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in a residential setting. They also serve vulnerable women with a child under a year of age. Roda said, “Whatever their current circumstances, we believe God can bring a new perspective and offer a life-changing experience.” All pregnant women are eligible to apply to Casa de Mariposa regardless of race, religion, or national origin.
